New York Allows Horse Racing Wagering Powered by Sona Mobile
On May 2, 2007, betting on online sites, in some ways, can get a player into a lot of trouble in the state of New York.
But wagering on the horses or "ponies" on online sites will bring no benefit to the player as the New York State Racing and Betting Board has given their nod of approval to the application pass by the New York Racing Association or NYRA to offer pari-mutuel betting on online sites.
It only means that NYRA, which is currently the owner and manager of the 3 largest racing tracks in New York, Belmont Park, Saratoga and Aqueduct, can offer their own web betting platform.
This would allow horse racing fans the chance to access real time information about the racing tracks and to place their wager online.
The first of its kind to be allowed in the state of New York, the online betting platform has been made and will be operated by Sona Mobile, a known leading maker of top of the line mobile solutions for both mobile gambling and entertainment needs by different users.
Just last year, over 2 million patrons watched horse racing at the tracks of NYRA. Currently, the Thoroughbred Horse Racing Industry employs around 17,000 people and produces around $1.4 Billion for the New York Economy.
