Unibet Posts Good Profit for the First Quarter of This Year
On May 9, 2007, Unibet Group Plc, a Swedish based online gaming and mobile gambling company, reported that their first quarter performance for this year was up about 28% compared to the same period in 2006. 22.3 million pounds and record revenues after the taxes of 8.3 million pounds for the said quarter, an improvement of about 48% on a yearly basis.
Unibet offers their customers a variety of real time odds for different 1,200 worldwide sporting events for the first quarter of 2007, with their sports wagering business both online and via mobile phones.
The company's sports wagering platform is also expected to generate a total profit of 9.37 million pounds. Unibet's none wagering offering, which consists of casino related products, gaming products, bingo and poker products contribute a total profit of 12.89 million pounds.
On March 31, 2007, the active customer database of Unibet is at 239,000 from their registered customer database of about 1.7 million customers.
Discussing the results, the CEO of Unibet Petter Nylander commented that the performance of the company for the first quarter of the year clearly demonstrates their ability to diversify and reach out to their customers.
As Unibet continues to diversify and expand their company all over the world, the dependence on one market will decrease.
