Sportech Overhauls IT Feature With the Help of Scientific Games and Orbis
On August 6th, 2008, football pool and gambling organization Sportech commented that a flexible Information Technology, which is not tied exclusively to a single system, has enabled it to debut its business on different mobile gambling media and help Sportech have good revenues.
After an extensive IT development by suppliers Scientific Games and Orbis, which will be completed this month, Sportech said that they will be able to manage customer games more effectively from different kinds of media like paper, on the Internet, postal entries, direct debit, mobile, handheld devices entries, in-store and others. Customers could also pay and wager more easily.
Sportech said that an agreement with gambling firm 888 Holdings, finalized in June, enabled them to debut in a brand new online gaming platform and payment processing system for their Littlewoods-branded gambling site.
Software supplier Cryptologic will be replaced by 888 Holdings in September. Aside from that, the integration of pools organization Vernons into Sportech's business, following their acquisition made last November, was on schedule. Operating revenue dropped by 300,000 year-on-year to 8.1 million pounds in 6 months to June 30th. In online gambling, profit remained at 1.4 million pounds.
