M Resorts and Cantor Finalize Mobile Gambling Agreement
On July 11th, 2008, Cantor Gaming has publicly announced a long-term gambling agreement with the M Resort, Spa and Casino facility to give mobile gambling technology for the casino gaming floor and race and sportsbook establishment. M Resort, Spa and Casino are being constructed in Las Vegas for $1 billion and are scheduled to be complete in spring of next year.
The agreement will see Cantor Gaming release a server-based gambling system with full back-office infrastructure and a wide array of games. A subsidiary of global financial services organization Cantor Fitzgerald, Cantor Gaming said that their mobile gambling technology would allow customers to enjoy well-known casino games like blackjack, slot machines, roulette, baccarat and poker within the facility but not on the usual confines of the gambling floor.
Customers will be able to use hand-held devices on designated spots throughout the facility. The Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for M Resort Joseph Magliarditi said that they want their customers to have a good time at their facility and offering mobile gaming is one way to ensure that they will do so.
The agreement still needs to be approve by the Nevada Gaming Commission and the Nevada Control Board and will see Cantor Gaming manage the M Resort's race and sports betting. The President for Cantor Gaming, Lee Amaitis commented that they are very happy with the agreement with M Resort and has high hopes for the future of the agreement.
