Juniper Study States Mobile Gaming Will Grow $12 Billion by 2010
On September 26th, 2007, Juniper Research has release a brand new study that states that bets made through cellular phones will reach $12 billion by 2010. The growth of mobile gambling will be helped by the growing availability of different mobile payment options and the loosening of the gaming laws in important markets like in Britain.
The biggest improvement is expected in the division of mobile lottery with more than 380 million people all over the world expected to be playing lottery with the use of cellular phones by 2010.
Dr. Windsor Holden, the main author of the study said that the mobile lottery is currently experiencing a good growth in the Far East. They also predict that the European state lotteries will continue to patronize mobile lottery in the near future.
The report also states that should the UIGEA or the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement be dismissed in the near future, the mobile lottery, wagering and casino services will be available in the U.S. market by 2010.
The U.S. market will be expected to replace Britain as the single biggest mobile gaming market by 2012. Worldwide gross win from mobile gaming is expected to increase from $106 million to $3.2 billion by 2012.
