India and China Next Major Mobile Gaming Market
As of June 21, 2007, mobile gambling is set to have a good growth in India even as telecommunications operators are wagering a lot on value added services to increase their profits.
Both India and China are expected to improve growth in the mobile gaming market. Profits from the mobile gaming market are predicted to surpass $1.8 Billion in 2007 and reach $4.6 Billion by 2011, according to advisory and research organization, Gartner.
Gartner said that even though the costs for mobile games are expensive compared to other types of mobile entertainment like music, ring tones and some adult entertainment, mobile gaming will often be the choice of the rising market, as customers do not need to spend a lot of money to start a mobile gaming business compared to buying a computer or a gaming console.
Market analysts expect fast rising markets like China and India to further push growth in the mobile gaming market. The regional differences of China and India will play an important role regarding the costs for mobile gambling in each area.
Nick Ingelbrecht, the Research Director at Gartner, said that one of the factors that is pushing for the rapid development and popularity of mobile gaming in developing markets like India and China is the abundance of top class processors for mobile phones which upgrade response times, gaming graphics and good gaming sounds.
Gartner added that high profit means higher data demand from countries like South Korea and Japan and shows a growing demand for mobile gambling in the region.
